The DeBug Beach Wheelchair:

Offering Versatility, Custom Features, and Ease of Use

• Specialized Polyurethane Balloon Tires roll easily over the soft sand of Hilton Head’s beautiful beaches.
• Castering Rear Wheels rotate 360 degrees to allow maximum maneuverability on and off the beach. Our most popular chair, this model will not only excel on the sand, but it will also tolerate any pavement, boardwalk, or pathway you may encounter on your way to the beach. If you have any distance to navigate before hitting the beach, this chair is for you.
• Swing Away Armrests allow for increased ease with lateral transfers. Simply lift gently on either armrest and rotate it completely out of the way. The user can now safely back up to the side of the chair and sit down. Once seated, their legs can be positioned on the leg rest. If transfers from different surfaces are a challenge or in any way unsafe, this chair is for you.
• The Seating System allows the user to sit at a comfortable angle while footrests provide proper foot support. The slight recline of the back rest provides additional trunk control and reduces trunk fatigue. The leg rests are designed to provide full lower extremity support, regardless of leg length. Although an adult chair, this feature makes this chair extremely effective and popular among our pediatric customers.
• Customize Your Beach Wheelchair by adding a Head and Neck Support, Lateral Supports, and/or Chest Strap. This feature makes the beach accessible for individuals in need of the most support.
• Articulating Rear Suspension allows all four wheels to remain in contact with the ground when going across the beach and uneven terrain. This improves both comfort and ride stability.
• Dimensions: The chair width is approximately 33.5 inches wide and is the only beach wheelchair that can access most standard doorways if necessary. Height of chair is 40” and depth is 52”.
• Weight Capacity of 350 lbs.
• Not electric, this model does require a caregiver to push.

PVC Premium Beach Wheelchair: Offering Comfort and Maneuverability

• Specialized Polyurethane Balloon Tires make it possible to roll easily over the soft sand of Hilton Head’s beautiful beaches and get right down to the water’s edge.
• Castering Rear Wheels rotate 180 degrees making maneuvering on the beach even easier. As you propel the chair forward, the two castering back wheels are designed to make this chair easier to turn and change direction. If you are staying on a larger property or if you have any distance to navigate before hitting the beach, this chair is for you.
• Slightly Reclined Seating System and moisture-wicking cushion guarantee that the user is even more comfortable during their trip to the beach. The slight recline of the back rest provides additional trunk control and reduces trunk fatigue. This chair has a fixed foot plate for added leg support and stability. The user should feel comfortable stepping up approximately 8 inches onto the footplate when entering and exiting the chair. If safety with transfers is a concern, consider the DeBug Platinum.

PVC Basic Beach Wheelchair: Offering Comfort on the Sand and in the Sun

• Four large polyurethane balloon tires make it possible to easily navigate through the soft packed sand and get right down to the waterʼs edge. If you are staying in a direct ocean front property with very little distance to navigate before hitting the beach, this chair is for you. The four large tires are fixed in place and roll beautifully when propelled forward and backward. As this model is designed specifically for the beach, turning this chair on surfaces other than sand can require a little more effort on the part of the caregiver. If you have any distance to navigate before hitting the beach, consider our Premium and Platinum chairs for their ease of maneuverability.
• Comfortable Seat Cushion and foot plate guarantee that the user remains comfortable during their trip to the beach. The user should feel comfortable stepping up approximately 8 inches onto the footplate when entering and exitingthe chair. If safety with transfers is a concern, consider the DeBug Platinum.
• Umbrella may be rented with this model. This chair can be fitted with an umbrella in order to keep the user comfortable and protected from the hot summer sun.
