Never again will you or your family be limited to the boardwalks or wheelchair mats. Our beach wheelchairs transport you right to the waters edge where you can feel the cool water, enjoy the dolphins swimming by, and truly experience the joy of Hilton Headʼs spectacular beaches. Hilton Head offers 12 miles of beautiful flat sand beaches. There are 6 locations that provide public parking and access to the beach . Vacation Mobility Solutions can deliver your chair to all the public beach access points.

Alder Lane
This is the southern-most public beach access point. Alder Lane is located off of South Forest Beach Drive, beside the Marriott Grand Ocean Resort. There are 24 metered parking spaces and 2 handicap accessible spaces across the street on Woodward Drive. Alder Lane beach is equipped with restrooms and wheelchair mats.
Coligny Beach
This beach is at the heart of Hilton Head. Coligny Beach is located off Coligny Circle at the end of Pope Avenue. Water fountains, restrooms, changing rooms and showers, volleyball nets, and outdoor bars make this beach access one of the busiest. This beach also has one of the most well groomed wheelchair mats on the island. Public parking is available at the Town Parking lot which is located off Pope Avenue. There is a short walk from the beach to the public parking lot. Our PVC Premium chair and the DeBug Platinum chair would allow excellent ease and maneuverability from this location. The DeBug Platinum chair would also allow easy access to the neighboring boardwalks and shops.
Burkes Beach
This location is accessible by beach wheelchair. If you are looking for a more peaceful and quiet trip to the beach, this is the spot for you. Burkes Beach, however, offers no amenities or life guards. This Hilton Head beach is located on Burkeʼs Beach Road off of William Hilton Parkway (278 Business).
Driessen Beach
A mid-island beach, Driessen Beach is located on Bradley Beach Road, off of William Hilton Parkway (278 Business). This site has plenty of amenities including wheelchair mats, life guards, public restrooms, showers, vending machines, a playground, grills and picnic tables. This location is accessible by beach wheelchair, however, the boardwalk to this beach is extremely long. The individual in the beach wheelchair will enjoy a beautiful and scenic tour of the dunes and sea grass. The caregiver pushing the chair, however, may have some weary legs by the time they get to the beach! Paid public parking here is plentiful with 212 regular spaces and 6 handicap accessible spaces.
Folly Field
Located off of Starfish Rd. at the end of Folly Field Road, this Hilton Head beach access is equipped with wheelchair mats, life guards, restrooms, and showers. Please be aware that the undertow at this particular beach can be very strong and riptides are common. The parking lot at this location can accommodate 52 vehicles with 2 handicap accessible spaces.
Fish Haul Creek Park
This park leads you to the beach at Port Royal Sound. Although the distance from the parking lot to the beach is considerable, this is one of the most private settings available to the public on Hilton Head. Our Platinum DeBug beach wheelchair would be an exceptional choice for this beach location. Its ease of maneuverability and rear articulating wheels would make for a safe, comfortable, and scenic trip to the beach.
Islanderʼs Beach
As the name implies, this beach is intended primarily for locals. Parking is available only for those who purchase annual beach permits. As a visitor, if you were to park elsewhere or get dropped off, you could still enjoy this lovely beach. Amenities include wheelchair mats, restrooms, changing rooms, a playground, showers, vending machines, and a few picnic tables. Islanderʼs Beach is located at 94 Folly Field Road at Sparkleberry Lane.
